EVO Product line
After upgrading from the Thrustmaster T16000M, the difference in quality is immediately noticeable. The Gladiator EVO Premium feels significantly more robust, with smoother movement, better precision, and a much more premium overall construction.
The button layout is where the Premium version really shines. The additional hat switches, mini-stick, rapid-fire trigger, and extra programmable inputs provide far more control options than the T16000M. This is particularly valuable in Star Citizen, where there are a huge number of ship, targeting, navigation, and interaction functions that benefit from being directly accessible without relying heavily on the keyboard.
For Star Citizen, I found the number of buttons and hats to be more than sufficient for a comfortable and immersive setup. Most frequently used functions can be mapped directly to the stick, reducing the need to remove your hands from the controls during gameplay.
Overall, the Gladiator EVO 'Space Combat Edition' Premium is a substantial upgrade from the T16000M. The improved build quality, ergonomics, and expanded control options make it an excellent choice for space simulation games and well worth the investment for anyone looking to take their setup to the next level.
First time flight sim guy and years ago bought the T.16000M FCS Hotas because I wanted plug and play and was scared of buying items that needed calibration and putting together. Those 'toys' are now with my son so not a total loss, but I should've bought VKB from the start. Easy to put together, easy to set up, and significantly better. Now I have the VKB pedals, Gladiator EVO, STECS Standard, and the UCM short for gladiator. The latter fits extremely well in my 90-degree set up desk so it sits between my legs. Now looking at one or two more items just to make sure my son is more jealous as both he and I learn MSFS 2024 before leaping into DCS. Not the best photo, but of course the key items after the VKB ones of course is the wine 😉😆

Really solid feeling joystick at a great price. Everything feels super solid and well made despite being all plastic. All buttons have really solid feedback when pressed and can be easily reached without stretching or feeling cramped. The amount of inputs on the stick gives heaps of variety when setting keybinds in game too.
